Connecting Seniors to Medical Services

With the accelerated growth of the older adult population comes the distinct challenge of ensuring access to health care and opportunities for social engagement. KIPDA contracts with a transportation provider, Wheels Transportation Services, to offer transportation services in the KIPDA region.

Non-emergency medical transportation provides transportation to and from medical appointments, medical therapies, hospitals, clinics, or other health-related services.

Transportation vouchers are also available. The transportation voucher program assists seniors to pay for transportation to medical appointments only. The voucher program is a self-directed personal assistance model which allows participants to choose who provides their ride.

Anyone interested in the KIPDA OAA non-emergency medical transportation services can speak with an Aging and Disability resource center specialist at 502-266-5571.
