New Year Cheers to New Health Goals!

Each year there are many goals set to make better health decisions and many other goals for that matter! Often times this goal, although with good intentions usually fall by the wayside by the time February rolls around. This year resolve not only to make changes but to make S.M.A.R.T Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely, goals. Weight loss, fitness and all other goals are better reached when they move from words written on a paper or thoughts in our heads to SMART goals. Which are specifically written down and have action steps.

Take the goal of: Getting more exercise in 2019 and make it a S.M.A.R T goal easily.

  • Specific: I want to join my neighborhood YMCA’s Monday water aerobics class.
  • Measureable: I want to sign up by January 30th and attend my first  Monday aerobics class by the first Monday in February.
  • Achievable: I want to attend only one class per week.
  • Realistic: I plan to attend a minimum of 1 class per week for the month of February and attend two classes in March and three in April.
  • Timely: I will be attending three water aerobics classes per week by the first week in April.
