KCHC Challenge Walks

KCHC logo

The Kentucky Coalition for Healthy Communities (KCHC) is working to help organize Health and Wellness Challenge walks in five counties through September. The walks are an expansion of the annual Diabetes Walks through the KIPDA Rural Diabetes Coalition (KRDC), and the aim is to improve the health and wellness of our citizens.

Participants at the Health and Wellness walks will each be given a pedometer, and counties will compete with one another for the most steps. Walks all last one hour, after which step totals are tallied and compared to other counties. A traveling trophy will be awarded to the county with the most steps at the October 1st KCHC meeting, which will take place from 1:00p.m. - 3:00p.m. at the North Central District Health Department in Shelbyville and the Multi Purpose Community Action Agency Senior Center in Shepherdsville.
